Barbara Daly Tweezers - Amazing?

Hey guys,

Just a short post today as I just wanted to tell you guys about my new Barbara Daly tweezers set I bought. I used to use a pair from QVS but they were getting blunt so I got these guys.  I got them in Tesco for £6 and I really do rate these.

You get 3 pairs of tweezers in the set all ranging in shape, with a soft black material case. The case folds out revealing little elastic holders which stores your tweezers.

The tweezers are all really sharp and precise, they have matte black handles that feel slightly rubberised to the touch.

My favourite pair has to be the middle pair, in the below photo, as they can easily grasp the thinnest and shortest of hairs and get them out in a flash.

The tweezers all have a different use for a different part of my eyebrows;

The top tweezer is slanted so I will be using that for the start of my brow, A, the middle one is really pointy and sharp so I will be using that in my arch to get the perfect angle, B, and the last one is straight so I think it would be good at getting the longer hairs as my eyebrows ends, C.

Overall, I really recommend these tweezers especially at only £6!

What tweezers do you use?

Review; Herbal Essences Intensive Smooth And Soft Hair Mask

Hey girls,

When I was in Tesco a few days ago, I picked up Herbal Essences Intensive Smooth And Soft hair mask. If you read my half price Tesco haul post, then you would know I picked this up really cheaply for £2 as most of the Herbal Essence products are on offer. I normally use the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration hair mask but decided to change this week and get the Smooth and Soft kind.

The Smooth and Soft hair mask really makes a difference to the feel and look of my hair. The mask is quite thick but spreadable, if you know what I mean, so a little goes a long away. When I apply it I use it all over as I don't find masks make my hair look greasy or weigh it down. I leave it on for around 5 minutes (basically as long as I can) then wash it off. After using this my hair was left nourished and felt super soft to the touch. I also noticed that my split ends were hidden quite a bit, leaving them soft and healthy looking.

The Smooth and Soft hair mask smells like tropical fruit juice, and lingers on your hair after washing it out too. The smell of the mask is also similar to the Hello Hydration version, the only difference between the smells is that Smooth and Soft is more orangey and Hello Hydration has a much stronger coconut smell.

The packaging on the mask is really up my street too - I love the bright orange as it's a fun and happy colour!

Overall I really love this mask, in fact I love all the Herbal Essence range! I do have to say though, I prefer the Hello Hydration mask to this only because I prefer the coconut smell. Otherwise I feel that this mask is perfect, and something every girl with damaged, dry or frizzy hair needs!

Have you tired the Herbal Essence masks?

NYX Round Lipstick in Power Review

Hey guys,

Today I will be doing a review on NYX Round Lipstick in Power. I have owned this lipstick for over a month now and have grew to love this shade.

What NYX says; "NYX Round Lipstick is our classic lipstick for all-year round. The mineral-based emollient formula offers a beautiful velvet texture, saturated colour and it resists wear and smudging. It?s your go-to lipstick. From Pure Nude to Pink Lyric to Chic Red, Round Lipstick is available in a jaw-dropping 144 shades."

The colour looks very pink here, but it isn't that colour at all :S

The colour of Power is really interesting as I don't think I've ever seen a colour like it before. Its a cross between a grey-lavender and a bubblegum pink, and on my lips looks a lavender nude. So this is a very different lipstick for me as I've said this before and I will say it again, I am not a nude lipstick fan, I love brights! I mean some people would never consider it a 'true nude' but for me I it is.

I think this lipstick would look best on a cool skin as I think it may make people with a warm skin tone look like a corpse or a victim of hypothermia, not a good look unless its for Halloween!

Now the formulation of these lipsticks is the thing I don't like. I know people rave at how creamy these lipsticks are, but for me they are too creamy. This makes them easily slip off your lips and makes the lasting time really poor. Power lasts about 1 hour before I have to reapply, and that's without eating or drinking.

Have you ever  tried NYX Round Lipsticks? What is your favourite?

Beautiful Blogger Award ❤

Hey guys,

This post is well over due since I got awarded this award at the start of July by Roisin over at Brutal Fashion and Beauty! She has such a lovely blog and deserves more followers.

1. Tell us how the idea of making a blog popped up and what makes you continue it.

I used to and still do watch a lot of beauty vidoes on YT and that got me really interested in make-up, well more than I was. So I started off blogging because none of my friends are really into beauty. I wanted to talk about products with people and see what they used. I felt it was a way to make friends with people who like the same things I do.

2. Describe a usual day in your life.

My life's pretty boring atm, all I seem to do is apply for jobs and blog. There has been a lot of change in my life recently, both with my education and relationships. So currently I feel sort of lost.

3. Describe what having a blog means to you.

It means I can express my feelings about things with people who are actually interested in them, not people who feel like they have to listen.

4. Nominate other bloggers.

I hope all of you are having a fab day,

Wishlist; The Cutest Lip Gloss EVER?!

Hi guys,

Last night I found the most adorable lip glosses ever! They are from a Korean brand called Tony Moly and are the Petite Bunny Gloss Bars.

They have ears!!! And little faces! How CUTE!

They come in lots of colours all with different cute faces. I want to buy them all!

Plus they are really affordable most sell on eBay for £4ish including P&P - Fantastic!

The size of these are 7ml which isnt to bad for the the price, the name suggests they are 'petite' but when I googled them they looked a normal lip gloss size.

I really want the peach and apple one!

Tony Moly also makes these sweet lip glosses called the Fruit Princess Gloss! The are so sweet and cute and I want them all!

So thats it, cuteness overload! Go and have a look at the Tony Moly range, they have some adorable products.

Do you have any of these? Or know somebody who has?

Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Lilac Pastelle Review!

Hey guys

Since getting into lipsticks I thought it would be time to expand my limited lip gloss collection! First, I have to mention that I'm not the biggest fan of lip glosses, they are just something I was not really interested in.

So I did a bit of research (consisting of me covering my hand in lip gloss swatches in Boots and reading reviews!) and decided to try the Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss since I loved their lipsticks so much. I've never tried any Revlon's lip gloss formulas, well maybe when I was really young, but I went in with an open mind since I've had my share of both pleasant and unpleasant experiences with lip gloss! I chose the colour Lilac Pastelle as I was looking for a gloss for MAC's Saint Germain and thought it would go nicely.

Lilac Pastelle is a pale, milky lilac colour which has a glossy cream finish and a teeny hint of shimmer. It goes on evenly and smoothly, plus for a purple it is extremely wearable as it is sheer, but buildable. The texture is nice and isn't very sticky, however this gloss' lasting power is excellent! It lasts a really long time by itself and over a lipstick, around 1 hour which I think is pretty good! The only downside of this gloss is that it settles into the fine lines in your lips and leaves what looks like purple vains on the skin of your lips, this is easily sorted however by rubbing your lips together.

The gloss has a normal doe foot applicator which doesn't bother me but I know some people prefer brushes. The applicator allows a smooth streak of colour all over the lips as well as dabbing it on too. The part of the packing where the lip gloss is held is very tight meaning no excess gloss is left on the applicator, also no lip gloss flows out of the top when the applicator is removed.

The top swatch is one swipe of colour,
the bottom is two layers of the gloss dapped on.

The only negative aspect of this gloss is the smell, it smells like plastic or something on the lines of that, luckily this doesn't affect the taste at all. I wish these gloss' had a smell or taste, something fruity or vanilla-ish like MAC.

The awkward lip swatches!

Sorry it's a bit blurry,
I can't take pictures up close of my lips properly,
so I have to zoom in!

Overall, I really love this lipgloss and I think I might be checking some more out!

Have you tried this collection? Or have a lip gloss you think I should try?

NYX Round Lipstick Haul & Swatches

Hey girls :)

Since getting my other NYX Round Lipstick and really liking them I decided to buy some more! I ordered on eBay and got 3 plus the free one the Lady forgot to include in my other order.

The texture off all the lipsticks are smooth and glides on the lips very easily, the finish is between matte and glossy. It depends on the shade you get. I love the pigmentation of these because only one swipe can give the right colour, the lasting power however is somewhat poor, only lasting around 3 hours so a reapply is a must!

(L-R) I got the shades; Spell Bound, Gardenia, Femme and Paris

Spell Bound is is a dark but bright pink colour, somewhat like a mauve strawberry. It is a creamy lipstick; not glossy nor matte.

Gardenia is a darker hot pink that's shimmery, but looks browny on me. I'm not a fan of this colour at all, and I regret buying it.

Femme on the other hand is a beautiful colour, its a bright orange-coral with a satin finish. Its a very opaque colour that for me is very wearable. If you are a shy person with lipstick colours stay well away from this.

Paris is a blue-toned and almost a purple-ish pink, compared to powder is it more pink and is a little darker. I would still say it is a lavender lipstick though.

Spell Bound, Gardenia, Femme and Paris

Over all I really love the colours I got, except Gardenia. They did melt a little in the post, so when I twist the lipstick up a small piece catches on the tube. This doesn't really bother me buts its worth mentioning it, as if you decided to buy some online the chances are it might happen.

The lady who I ordered off has removed her account, so I cant link you but lots of people sell NYX on eBay!
Have you heard about nyx?
Have you tried any of their products?

eBay Blush Palette Review

Hi girls,

Many of you may have seen the blush palette on E-bay, where you can purchase 10 blush's in a nice little palette. I spent a few days contemplating whether to buy it and in the end I did.

I can't say I was expecting much and to be honest it was a bit of an impulse purchase, as I had decided my blush collection was lacking compared to mascara, powder etc.. and thought 10 for the price of £3.92 was a good offer.

The palette comes with 10 different blush shades, ranging from pinks, to corals to more lilac-toned colours which are all gorgeous. There is also a mixture of semi-matte and shimmer finishes which is perfect for me. The palette is supposedly very similar to the BH cosmetics blush palette, but I haven't tried that so I cant say.

All the colours are highly pigmented, smooth and look absolutely gorgeous with my skin tone. I was worried the more red orangy colours would look strange, but as shown when swatched below, they come off more of a coral colour.

Top row swatches

Bottom row swatches

The palette itself it made from black plastic that feels a little cheap, but sturdy. The bit where the blushes are held is thin plastic that can be removed easily. So if you use all the blushes up, you can remove it and use the pallet for something else.

As it comes from China I was a little worried it may arrive in pieces, but when I opened the parcel the palette was covered in bubble wrap and inside a box which was also wrapped in bubble wrap. It was very secure. Delivery wise, for me it took 12 days to arrive but it can take up to 23 working days

Overall I am so happy with my purchase and would highly recommend the product. The blushes are definitely worth more than they are priced!

I bought mine here and like I said before cost me £3.92 including delivery.

Have you tried any blush palettes you can recommend?

Review; Revlon Matte Lipstick in Stormy Pink

Hey girls,

Im here with another lipstick review today, it is another Revlon Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick in the colour Stormy Pink. This colour was featured in the fall 2010 collection, Suede Rhapsody, however it is now been added to Revlon's permanent range.

What Revlon says; "Revlon® Matte Lipstick gives suede-like application and maximum colour. Rich matte colour glides effortlessly across lips. Suede-like cushion without drying."

The colour of Stormy Pink in the bullet looks like a very vibrant candy pink, almost fuchsia with blue under tones. However when swatched the colour becomes more muted and doesn't look as bold. On my lips it looks it looks like a very toned down version of MAC's Pink Nouveau (comparison picture below) I do really like this shade and is a colour I didn't have in my collection.

The texture of this 'matte' lipstick is very moisturising, especially compared to Revlon's Pink Pout in the same range -review here. I would still exfoliate and apply a lip balm before hand, but it was a nice surprise to find it didn't dry my lips. When you do apply it to the lips the colour is slightly sheerer than I would like, but it can be easily built up with out it caking. The colour is still bold even though it is sheer, but not in a 'in your face' sort of way like MAC's Impassioned.

The finish of this lipstick is nice, I wouldn't say it was matte but more like a MAC luster or satin finish as it gives a little bit of colour but also has a small amount of shine in it. Like I mentioned before this is very different to the other matte colour I have in this range. The lasting power of this lipstick is on the shorter side of what I would like, lasting around 3 hours. With eating or drinking, it would wear quicker. The lipstick has a very faint smell that I can't put my finger on. The smell is nice, and once on the lips completely disappears.

My other pink lipsticks swatched against Stormy Pink;

T-B
1. Revlon Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick in Stormy Pink
2. MAC Lipstick in Pink Nouveau
3. MAC Lipstick in Saint Germain
4. Revlon Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick in Pink Pout
5. NYX Round Lipstick in Strawberry Pink
6. NYX Round Lipstick in Narcissus

Like I said I believe Stormy Pink is a muted version of MAC's Pink Nouveau, below it is swatched between  Pink Nouveau and Saint Germain.

I think Stormy Pink fits well between these colours, although its not as pigmented I think looks like a mixture of both MAC lipsticks.

Overall, I really like Stormy Pink and am looking to trying other colours in the Revlon Super Lustrous range.

You can find this lipstick at Boots for £7.49  or on eBay, I got mind from this seller for only £3.50

Have you tried this lipstick? Or another good one from Revlon?

Face Wash Series; Witch Oil Control Foaming Face Wash

Hey guys!

I'm here with another instalment of my face wash series, today I will be reviewing the Witch Oil Control Foaming face wash.

Firstly I love the packaging. It’s a simple plastic bottle with a pump nozzle, which allows the perfect amount of product out. The pump feels sturdy and is also very hygienic as no bacteria will be getting into the bottle.

The formula is a little different to your normal wash. It is dispensed as a very light weight mousse, lighter than shaving cream or hair mousse. I like the foam as its different and simple to use. Just pump the wash out into your hand, massage around your face, and rinse.

The smell is another thing I like as the antiseptic smells of witch hazel, tea tree, eucalyptus make me think its killing all the bacteria and cleaning my skin.

Although I have combination skin, this product works really well. I find that this product does in fact reduce the oiliness of my t zone but without drying out my skin. It also gets rid of any acne breakouts I have. The dry areas haven't become irritated or drier, but I do use a very moisturising cream afterwards.

Overall I think this product is great from acne prone skin as well as combination and oily skin people.

Have you tired it?
