Lush's Enzymion Review

Enzymion, why weren't you in my life earlier?

So you guessed it, I really love Enzymion moisturiser from Lush. My skin is crazy at the moment and this is the only thing that keeps it under control and hasn't broken me out!

Enzymion is a light moisturiser intended for oily skin, made with lots of fruit juice to refresh and mattify your skin. The texture of Enzymion is liquidy compared to the normal texture you’d normally expect from a moisturiser, which adds to the cool and refreshing feeling. It's absorbed quickly without leaving any kind of sticky or tacky feeling, which makes it perfect under makeup, but it still leaves your skin feeling moisturised and nourished. However the first thing you notice is the smell; it's a really strong but lovely lemony orange smell. It lingers on your skin too, which is a bonus to me!

I would highly recommended Enzymion for oily skin but I don't think it would be hydrating enough for those with dry skin. I would also say if you have sensitive skin, go to lush and try some as a sample as the fresh juice might sting red or sore skin.

Enzymion is £13.75 for a 45g pot.

Lush's Let the Good Times Roll

Let the Good Times Roll is a new facial cleanser released and wow, its fab.

This is an exfoliating cleanser made from popcorn, real popcorn! It has a fine grainy formula made from polenta that polishes skin removing all the dirt and dead skin, leaving your face brighter. But the best thing about this? The smell. It smells like a bottom of a cheese cake, or salty popcorn, or vanilla cupakes! Just a really gooey buttery sugary salty smell that makes me want to eat it! It comes in a black tub, which when opened looks like cookie mix! To use it you pull off a small piece, rub it between wet hands to create a paste, and massage it gently on the skin. The texture is smooth at first but once you massage it on you’ll feel the finer, grainy texture of the cleanser, which isn't irritating at all. This cleanser doesn't strip your skin, but leaves it feeling soft and plumper. 

I think most skin types should be able to use this as it gentle but works . It buffs away flaky, dry skin without over drying.

Next time your in Lush have a smell, you won't regret it!

Lush's Rub Rub Rub Review

Hey guys,

Now, since I work at Lush I thought I should tell you that for any Lush reviews I will do, I either got a sample to try or have paid for it myself. I do get discount but these are all my own views, so if I don't like it I'm going to tell you, and if I love it I will also tell you! So, with Rub Rub Rub I did get a sample of it but ended up really liking it so I bought a full sized one for myself. 

Rub Rub Rub is designed to be an exfoliator but also a shower gel, which is something I have never come across before! Its made from sea salt, lemon juice and lemon oil which remove the dead skin leaving you feeling refreshed, but with soft moisturised skin.  

The texture of  Rub Rub Rub changes when you use it. First if you like having a bit more exfoliation, apply it onto dry skin, then slowly add water which will dissolve the salt and get the gel into a lather. On wet skin you will get a less abrasive scrub, but still a really good exfoliation, then a lot of lather. It smells, to me, like the sea side, really salty but with a hint of lemon. Normally I love foody smells but I really like this too!

Lush Tiny Hands Review!

This post is going to be a review on the Lush product Tiny Hands, I've been using this product for a while now, about a year so I think it's time for a review!

Tiny Hands is a solid moisturising bar in the shape of little hand and works just like Lush massage bars, you just warm it in the hands and rub in. The serum is designed to soften and soothe your hands but not leave a sticky or oily residue behind. Personally, I never use hand moisturisers as I feel they all leave my hands feeling greasy, as if they never quite sink into my skin properly. However this one, although it is greasy for a little bit perhaps 5-10 minutes, sinks in and leaves them unbelievably soft.

The only thing I'm not too keen on is the smell. Lush describes it as; "A wonderfully light floral fragrance of chamomile, marigold and lime flower oils." But urgh, its just not my scent at all, I think its the marigolds so I wish it was sweeter! Other than that I love this product!

Tiny Hands retails at £4.15 for a 60g bar.

Face Wash Series; Lush Fresh Farmacy

Hi everybody,

Today I will be reviewing Lush's Fresh Farmacy face wash. 

Now I'm going to just state that I don't like this face wash. Its just not for me at all and lucky I just have a sample.

What Lush says; "To make this soap gentle enough for use on the face, we cut down the amount of soap in it and replace it with other ingredients to help the skin. This makes a mild soap that is great for both face and body."

First off the soap its self smells funny, like herbs and generic soap. At first it didnt bother me, but now when I smell the soap it makes me not want it going anywhere near my face let alone on it!

Next is that it doesn't lather like a soap, it doesnt lather at all! You have to scrap the product agsints your face to get any of the soap on your face. Lush says "we cut down the amount of soap in" so I'm guessing that's why. But I don't understand why they did it, surely a soap has to lather?

Those small bubbles were a result of rubbing my hands together with the soap for about 3 minutes!

Another thing is that it doesn't even clean my face! I always remove my makeup with a baby wipe then wash the remaining off with a face wash but this doesn't do it, I end up washing my face at least 3 times to get rid of the make up. Then immediately after use, it dried my skin and made it tight and uncomfortable. 

I also noticed no difference in my spots, blackheads or redness so I would say this is waste of money.  For me it did nothing. However if you do want to try it out and if you live near a Lush you can pop in and ask for a sample.

Face Wash Series; Lush CoalFace Cleanser

Hey Guys,

Im sure I’ve mentioned on more than one occasion that I love Lush, I like to try their range by getting samples when I buy sometime and that's how I found out about the wonderful Coalface. 

Coalface - the beautiful charcoal grey bar of loveliness makes your face squeaky clean! 

Lush says; "Coalface includes liquorice infusion for softening and charcoal which absorbs grease and gently exfoliates the skin" 

I started to use this last summer when my face was super oily and it really, really did help! After using this product for a few months, my face had become clearer and I noticed less oil was being produced. However as I mention in other posts my skin is crazy, so once my skin started to become dryer in the autumn/winter I had to stop using it as it was too drying :( 

The soap lathers easy, into a bubbly cream which when rubbed on to your face is refreshing and cleansing. There is also tiny grains of real coal that gently exfoliate as you wash, which creates a fresh contrast with the soft lather. You can feel your face becoming clean and soft, but not tight and dry as you rinse it off, 

The smell of Coalface is quite strong. It smells to me like liquorice, which I normally hate, but in this instance love! Its really unique as it is sweet but also has the 'generic Lush' smell. I could see this either being a love or hate type of smell. 

Since the wash comes as one big chunk, I cut mine into smaller chunks and use them one at a time. I store the remaining pieces in a Lush massage bar tin to stop them from melting in the heat of the shower. You could just store them in another room or in a plastic bag. 

Overall, I would really recommend Coalface for normal to oily skinned people. I would also suggest asking a Lush employee to give you a sample before buying a full slice to make sure it works for you!

Review; The Body Shop's Chocomania Body Butter

Hey guys!

I have a product to show you today, that I actually can't get enough off! It's the Body Shop's Chocomania body butter and I love it. I hardly go to Body Shop because I think they can be pricey and I really prefer to go to Lush, but I am a big fan of their body butters! So when I heard The Body Shop was coming out with a chocolate range I was really looking forward to trying it, but I just hadn't until now.

So when I went in the other day I ran over and inhaled a massive breath of the chocolaty goodness, and oh my god, it smells incredible! Like real chocolate chip cookies. This really sealed the deal for me and I cant stop smelling it. Truth be told, I have almost tasted it twice, but stopped as I had to remind myself it is a body butter not food! Ahaha :P

It's a chocolate lover's heaven.

I ended up buying the small £5 50ml version as I already have two other big ones open, and it takes awhile for me to use them up.

The packaging is also adorable on this product. It looks luxurious and obviously chocolate like. Although chocolate isn't a normal 'summer' scent I will be using this all 'summer' as it is divine! I think as soon as our true autumn comes I will be buying the big one, and applying it every night!

*I say 'summer' more like winter! Newcastle right now feels more like November then July! Where is our sun?!!*

The texture like all Body Shop body butters is creamy and smooth and it spreads like a dream onto the skin. It also gets absorbed very fast which I love as I hate feeling greasy or sticky. 

 In the range there's a body butter, body scrub, shower gel, soap and lip butter. Which all smell soooooo good!

Review - Lush Mask Of Magnaminty

 I have so much love for Lush Mask Of Magnaminty! 

To start off with, this product is super bright green, herbal, and cooling to the skin. It applies thinner than Lush’s fresh facemasks with small chunks of Aduki bean in, making it easy to spread. 

  I have also been going through really bad skin this week, relatively big sore red and frankly disgusting spots have appeared on my chin and around my mouth, so I applied it to the problem areas a little thicker than the rest of my face. It helped cool and sooth my skin and honestly made them look smaller. 

While it’s on, it immediately goes super-cold and minty making your face tingle, it truly feels like it’s sucking my pores clean and reducing the spots while it’s on. It dries up pretty quickly with the setting texture of thin clay, clearly as it has clay in! It’s hard to move your face once it’s dried but it’s a nice…”drawn out” feeling like I'm doing my skin some good. 

When it comes to taking it off, just make sure you wet it really well then rub in circle motions. It is definitely good for oily acne prone skin but also dry skin as the Aduki beans exfoliate really well, leaving my skin soft and clean.

The texture of Mask of Magnaminty is soft and paste-like. You can see the chunks of Aduki beans in the photo. 

I love the refreshing feeling and soothing ingredients, as well as what it does for my skin. It's something I will be definitely purchasing again. Do you have any favorite masks?

Lush; Best of the Shower Gels

If you have never been to Lush it can be daunting the first time you shop there. There is so much to smell and so many different products you don't know where to look! Also if you don't have a Lush near you and have to shop online it can be really hard to know what a product really smells and works like. So I'm going to do a little series of the 'best of'' Lush, I have done a Best of Lush: Top Ten Products you can find it here, but that was out of all the products they sell, not from one single category. To start I will do the best of shower gels.

My first favourite shower gel is Its Raining Men, if you like Honey I Washed the Kids soap, then you probably like this one because they are very similar fragrance, except It's Raining Men is a little deeper and more floral to me. The lather is not as bubbly as some shower gels, but still makes a lot of bubbles.

Next is Dirty, this is a amazing body wash! Its minty but has a slight hint of sweetness and is so refreshing. The Spearmint and menthol have a cooling effect on the skin making it perfect for summer and spring. The lather is very bubbly so only a small amount is needed. This is also my boyfriends favourite.

Flying Fox is third. It has a VERY strong honey and jasmine scent, and for me personally I mostly use it in winter . Its great for those cold days if you're feeling a bit bland and run down, it will leave you feeling very luxurious and soft. The smell is very similar to Godiva shampoo bar.

Snow Fairy is a strawberry bubblegum fragrance which makes your skin feel smooth and smell yummy. This has blue iridescent glitter in it, which when you almost reach the end comes out. The only problem with this it is a seasonal product only out at Christmas, hence why its 4th and not 2nd. 

Unavailable to buy now at Lush but you can check on Ebay or private sales on blogs etc..

Best of Lush: Top Ten Products

As I said in my last post, I am a Lush addict. I have a brilliant stash of Lush stuff that just smells so good. However since a lot of people have never tried Lush I thought I would do my top 10 favourite products.

1. Honey I Washed The Kids soap - This is an amazing soap that smells like honey and toffee. It is creamy caramel colour, and is so moisturizing. I have so much of this in my stash it my top favourite soap and all time Lush product.

2. The Comforter bubble bar - My very favourite bubble bar because of it’s huge size and gorgeous scent!. Love it! It has a pink and white swirl and you crumble it under running water and it makes HUGE bubbles while turning that water pink and smooth! It smells like sweet blackcurrants and fruit, a little like Ribena.

3. Its Raining Men shower gel - This a shower gel that smells just like Honey I Washed The Kids soap, but I feel like it is slightly more florally. It smells divine though! It is very bubbly and lathers well; a little bit goes a long way! It also leaves a lasting scent on my skin.

4. Twilight bath bomb - This smells like lavender and vanilla and is very soothing. It is a good one to use before bed as it will help you sleep and make you so relaxed. The bomb is a pink/purple with stars embossed on the top, the inside is blue with sparkles. The first layer turns the water a dusky, creamy pink, and the blue core deepens the colour until the bathwater turns purple and the sparkles make the water so pretty and fun.

5. So White bath bomb – So White has such a light and refreshing apple fragrance, it's perfect for summer and it even moisturises my skin quite nicely.

6. Brazened Honey - I love this mask so much! It's makes my skin glow and exfoliates it so softly. I've been using it once or twice a week for a few months now and my skin feels great.

7. Calacas shower jelly - This smells AMAZING. If this was sold year round, I would repurchase and repurchase over and over again. It smells like sweet fruit and lime, and lathers up really well.

8. Vanilla Dee-Lite - This a liquid body lotion which contains vanilla, kiwi fruit, coconut butter and illipe butter. It smells very sweet and vanillary with a slight hint of kiwi which stops it from being sickenly sweet. I really love the scent! It absorbs very quickly and does not leave my skin feeling oily in the slightest. 

9. Skullduggery bath bomb – although the bath bomb is not much to look at the smell makes up for the appearance, the ballistic is very citrus smelling and contains olibanum and neroli which help the fragrance to last on your skin. 

10. Snow Fairy shower gel – This smells absolutely delicious. It's sugary, bubblegum pink, and sends you back to a time where as a little girl. It makes the whole bathroom smell good after using it. It foams up really well, meaning a little bit of product goes a long way.
