DIY; Lipstick Storage Box

Hey everyone,

If you have seen my 'Everyday Make-up Storage' post then you would see that I used to keep most of my lipsticks in one of the little draws, but my collection grew and soon I had to many to fit.  So I decided to put my most used lippies into a cute little box on my dressing table.

I just used a old watch box, then measured the width of the box and stuck a pattern of MAC lipsticks on. It was really simple but I think looks super cute!

Everyday Makeup Storage

Hello everyone, 

Today I wanted to show you my everyday makeup storage. I am always interested in how people store their makeup and I'm always watching these on YT so I thought I would share!

I have always wanted a pretty, little vanity table a bit like the one in the picture below! But it wouldn't go with my decoration in my room :( 

The desk I have now is probably as close as I will ever get to owning something like that :(

But anyway as the title says is my everyday make up, I dont use all these products everyday, but its the ones I tend to switch over on a daily bases. Currently its sitting on my desk, in the corner. The draws fit perfectly on my desk.


 As you can see I have my new mirror on there and a few other bits I tend you use everyday. 
I like having my everyday stuff away from the rest of my makeup as they are my favourite products. 

I also have my Hello Kitty "MAC" brush set on top, you can read my review here.

The draws are from Whsmiths, but I could not find them on their website. I could only find these cupcake draws, which are basically the same just a different pattern. If you are looking for these kind of draws, go have a look inside a store, they have much more stock than the website. 

These are the draws, on top I have some perfume, moisturizer, heat defense stuff and my brushes.

In the two Hello Kitty tins I store bobbles and bobby pins.

These are the three top draws. 

The first draw holds lip products, the second powder products and third mascaras plus eyeliners.

These two are the middle draws.

The left contains face stuff like primers, foundation and concealer.

The right holds pallets and random stuff like my spare razor, my Lush lipscrub, Benefit high beam sample and a few blushes. 

The last draw is the largest and holds a lot of random stuff.

In the black decorated pots are Lush body scrubs and a tinted moisturizer I made the other week.

 It also houses my eyelash curlers, my random samples and two memory sticks - I don't know why they are there o.O

My DIY Wood Nail Varnish Rack

Hey lovelies! I made myself a nail varnish rack :D Yay!

It was so simple and easy as I followed the lovely Faith and her husband Bill's instruction, found in the below video.

These are the sizes of my nail varnish rack  (all in inches) 

I did however change the size of the rack as my room has a lot of stuff on the walls and I only wanted to show my favourite nail varnishes off. I also painted mine a matte charcoal black colour to match my room, and added a decorative purple paper on the back of the rack. I also left a 'extra' bit of wood on the top and bottom pieces, as I thought it looked nice :) 

Here's the finished product. 

The wood is from Homebase, and cost me £1.99 per board which measures 35.5". In total I need 4 boards.

I got the paper from Paperchase, down from £2.25 to £1 :O It's so beautiful and thick.

How To Keep Your Lush Fresh

When buying Lush, one of the most attractive features is that all the products are fresh. However some off the products lose there scent or oils really quickly meaning you have to have a good way off storing them, see my way of storing them here. Most people keep their Lush out to make their room smell lush but this makes the products dry out really quickly, which is very bad :(

So this is my way to keep your Lush fresh for longer!

What you need;

Scissors

Little Elastic Bands

Sandwich Bags 

A Pen

Keeping your Lush fresh can be done in three easy steps;

Steps 1, 2 and 3

1. Take your fresh bubble bar or bath bomb and place it in a sandwich bag,

2. Next pull the bag around the product, squish all the air out and secure with an elastic band,

3. Finally cut the excess bag off and your done.

For the soaps, you can cut the soap up first or wrap the whole bar up in the bag. Or if you have a lot simply store it in a tub :)

So yes! It's that easy, and it will make your Lush last so much longer,

How I Store My Lush

So this is how I store most of my Lush products. I use a range of boxes, most I already had and just jazzed them up with Lush pictures. I don't store all of my Lush in them, the soap slices and shower gels I use on a daily basics are stored in my shower. I  love how cute the collages look and how lovely the room smells if I remove the lids off the boxes. 

In box number one, I store my FAVOURITE bubble bar and bath bomb cocktail, you cant get Ma Bar anymore so that's why its not included in my 'best of lush' series found here.

 Box three is my biggest box and also my favourite box, this is where I store all my bubble bars + bath bombs, and box of Honey I Washed The Kids soap. You can see my full Lush collection here.

 Box four is my soap box :D I store my largest amount of soap in recycled take-a-away boxes! You can see my 'best of lush' soap here. 

In box five all my bath melts, sugar scrubs and massage bars are kept in here. I reuse face mask tubs and other tubs to store products, currently in my Oatifix tub I have 2 pieces of You've Been Mangoed. 

 This is my extra shower gel and body spray basket, I keep this on a shelf on my bookcase.

My next post is going to be about how I keep my products fresh, as that is a massive problem when buying Lush.
