Lush's Enzymion Review

Enzymion, why weren't you in my life earlier?

So you guessed it, I really love Enzymion moisturiser from Lush. My skin is crazy at the moment and this is the only thing that keeps it under control and hasn't broken me out!

Enzymion is a light moisturiser intended for oily skin, made with lots of fruit juice to refresh and mattify your skin. The texture of Enzymion is liquidy compared to the normal texture you’d normally expect from a moisturiser, which adds to the cool and refreshing feeling. It's absorbed quickly without leaving any kind of sticky or tacky feeling, which makes it perfect under makeup, but it still leaves your skin feeling moisturised and nourished. However the first thing you notice is the smell; it's a really strong but lovely lemony orange smell. It lingers on your skin too, which is a bonus to me!

I would highly recommended Enzymion for oily skin but I don't think it would be hydrating enough for those with dry skin. I would also say if you have sensitive skin, go to lush and try some as a sample as the fresh juice might sting red or sore skin.

Lush's Let the Good Times Roll

Let the Good Times Roll is a new facial cleanser released and wow, its fab.

This is an exfoliating cleanser made from popcorn, real popcorn! It has a fine grainy formula made from polenta that polishes skin removing all the dirt and dead skin, leaving your face brighter. But the best thing about this? The smell. It smells like a bottom of a cheese cake, or salty popcorn, or vanilla cupakes! Just a really gooey buttery sugary salty smell that makes me want to eat it! It comes in a black tub, which when opened looks like cookie mix! To use it you pull off a small piece, rub it between wet hands to create a paste, and massage it gently on the skin. The texture is smooth at first but once you massage it on you’ll feel the finer, grainy texture of the cleanser, which isn't irritating at all. This cleanser doesn't strip your skin, but leaves it feeling soft and plumper. 

I think most skin types should be able to use this as it gentle but works . It buffs away flaky, dry skin without over drying.

Next time your in Lush have a smell, you won't regret it!

Lush Oatifix Facemask Review

Lush's Oatifix is a staple in my skincare routine. 

Currently my skin is combination with an oily t zone but dry everywhere else, so this is a real treat for my skin! It contains oats, banana and vanilla which makes it smell like carrot cake mix, it actually makes me hungry! Since this mask was created to moisturise the skin, it won't dry or tighten but having more of a buttery feeling. I leave it on for a good half an hour and when I wash it off with warm water, all those little oat pieces become a really nice gentle exfoliant! Afterwards my skin feels so soft and looks really bright. It is left moistures for the rest of the day, but also refreshed - something I love!

Now just something to mention, Lushs facemask are made from all fresh ingredients, meaning that they are free of preservatives so need to be kept in the fridge. It also means that you have a time period to use them in, so get pampering!

Tangoed Time; Garnier B.B. Cream Miracle Skin Perfector

Hey girls!

Recently I ordered a sample of the Garnier B.B. Cream Miracle Skin Perfector and honestly I was so disappointed.

 If you haven't been heard of a B.B cream it stands for blemish balm, it is sort of the middle ground between a tinted moisturiser and a foundation, but supposedly better for your skin. They normally contain ingredients to provide anti aging, whiting, soothing, healing or repairing qualities. They first became popular in Asia but are now sold by a lot of 'drugstore' brands. 

First off the Garnier sample is a really good amount, you get 3 full packets with enough product in them to cover all of your face. So that is pretty good, the only positive I can think of!

The smell of this B.B cream is pretty good, fruity almost which I found really pleasant but I think it is too strong of a fragrance for a face product. I can see it being a problem on sensitive skin as it already slightly irritated my cheeks a little bit as I was applying the product and my skin isn't particularly sensitive.

Next I was completely confused at the colour of this B.B cream - I mean its called light but looks orange! It is way to dark and orange to be anywhere near the colour light, for me this shade would be more suited to someone with a mid-tone warm skin colour. Even after my initial "oh my this is orange" reaction I applied it to my face to see if the colour would look different - it didn't. It left me looking orange and greasy -hence no pictures- and gave me a beautiful orange face and jaw with a pale neck. No one, and I mean no one looks good like that, I washed it off in about 0.3 of a second, so luckily no one could laugh at me and my Oompa Loompa appearance.

Going back to the greasy feeling I had, the product is really thick.  It feels tacky on the skin and makes my skin feel like it can't breathe. Its just nasty and I dont like it.

So yeah, overall you can probably tell I do not like this at all and will not be purchasing it at all.

Lush Tea Tree Water Review

Hey guys,

I'm going to review Lush's  Tea Tree Water in today's post. I've been using this since last July and it has become a total staple in my skin care routine!

Every night I remove my make up with a make up wipe then wash my face with a face wash, then spray this on to my face. I usually use about 4 pumps to cover my entire face, then leave it to soak in! The toner is mild and just feels like water applied to your face., which when soaked in leaves my skin soft and refreshed. I also use this in the morning after my shower  as it makes anything applied on top of it like my moisturiser and primer just glide on and is absorbed faster and generally looks better. I would also like to note that this hasn't dried out my skin at all, which is a huge relief as I was super concerned that it would leave me dry and patchy. 

This toner makes my skin feel so healthy and clean, and whilst it hasn't cured my skin completely of the spots and blemishes, it has made a difference to my pores and the overall appearance of my skin. 

The only downside to this is that I feel apprehensive every time I use it! Squirting something right at your face just feels wrong and still alarms me a year after using it! I end up wincing every time I squirt the toner out! Other than that I don't see any negatives with this product. 

You can buy the Tea Tree Water from Lush in store or online, it costs £7 for 250g or £3 for 100g.

Kleenex Extra Gentle facial Cleansing Wipes Review

Hey guys!

A little while ago, Kleenex released a new range of face products, which I was really sceptical at, I mean I thought they would be like tissues! The Kleenex range includes shine absorbing sheets, facial wipes, facial cloths and eye make up removal wipes, so I decided to pick up the facial wipes and wow! I really am impressed, and may have just found my HG facial wipes. 

They are so thick! The wipes are quilted and feel like cloth,  which are super soft and don't irritate my skin, with a light fresh scent to them. The wipes are wet, but not dripping, meaning my make-up comes off easily with only one of these wipes and it leaves my skin feeling super soft too. Really they are a pleasure to use!

I also love that the wipes are made from natural fibres and are from a certified source. I think it’s great when companies make the effort to be more eco friendly and Kleenex have certainly impressed me. 

I am going to definitely buy these wipes again and compared to some make-up removal/cleansing wipes these are quite cheap at £2.99 a pack with 24 wipes in.

Face Wash Series; Witch Oil Control Foaming Face Wash

I'm here with another instalment of my face wash series, today I will be reviewing the Witch Oil Control Foaming face wash.

Firstly I love the packaging. It’s a simple plastic bottle with a pump nozzle, which allows the perfect amount of product out. The pump feels sturdy and is also very hygienic as no bacteria will be getting into the bottle. 

The formula is a little different to your normal wash. It is dispensed as a very light weight mousse, lighter than shaving cream or hair mousse. I like the foam as its different and simple to use. Just pump the wash out into your hand, massage around your face, and rinse.

The smell is another thing I like as the antiseptic smells of witch hazel, tea tree, eucalyptus make me think its killing all the bacteria and cleaning my skin. 

Although I have combination skin, this product works really well. I find that this product does in fact reduce the oiliness of my t zone but without drying out my skin. It also gets rid of any acne breakouts I have. The dry areas haven't become irritated or drier, but I do use a very moisturising cream afterwards. 

Overall I think this product is great from acne prone skin as well as combination and oily skin people.

Face Wash Series; Lush Fresh Farmacy

Hi everybody,

Today I will be reviewing Lush's Fresh Farmacy face wash. 

Now I'm going to just state that I don't like this face wash. Its just not for me at all and lucky I just have a sample.

What Lush says; "To make this soap gentle enough for use on the face, we cut down the amount of soap in it and replace it with other ingredients to help the skin. This makes a mild soap that is great for both face and body."

First off the soap its self smells funny, like herbs and generic soap. At first it didnt bother me, but now when I smell the soap it makes me not want it going anywhere near my face let alone on it!

Next is that it doesn't lather like a soap, it doesnt lather at all! You have to scrap the product agsints your face to get any of the soap on your face. Lush says "we cut down the amount of soap in" so I'm guessing that's why. But I don't understand why they did it, surely a soap has to lather?

Those small bubbles were a result of rubbing my hands together with the soap for about 3 minutes!

Another thing is that it doesn't even clean my face! I always remove my makeup with a baby wipe then wash the remaining off with a face wash but this doesn't do it, I end up washing my face at least 3 times to get rid of the make up. Then immediately after use, it dried my skin and made it tight and uncomfortable. 

I also noticed no difference in my spots, blackheads or redness so I would say this is waste of money.  For me it did nothing. However if you do want to try it out and if you live near a Lush you can pop in and ask for a sample.

Face Wash Series; Lush CoalFace Cleanser

Hey Guys,

Im sure I’ve mentioned on more than one occasion that I love Lush, I like to try their range by getting samples when I buy sometime and that's how I found out about the wonderful Coalface. 

Coalface - the beautiful charcoal grey bar of loveliness makes your face squeaky clean! 

Lush says; "Coalface includes liquorice infusion for softening and charcoal which absorbs grease and gently exfoliates the skin" 

I started to use this last summer when my face was super oily and it really, really did help! After using this product for a few months, my face had become clearer and I noticed less oil was being produced. However as I mention in other posts my skin is crazy, so once my skin started to become dryer in the autumn/winter I had to stop using it as it was too drying :( 

The soap lathers easy, into a bubbly cream which when rubbed on to your face is refreshing and cleansing. There is also tiny grains of real coal that gently exfoliate as you wash, which creates a fresh contrast with the soft lather. You can feel your face becoming clean and soft, but not tight and dry as you rinse it off, 

The smell of Coalface is quite strong. It smells to me like liquorice, which I normally hate, but in this instance love! Its really unique as it is sweet but also has the 'generic Lush' smell. I could see this either being a love or hate type of smell. 

Since the wash comes as one big chunk, I cut mine into smaller chunks and use them one at a time. I store the remaining pieces in a Lush massage bar tin to stop them from melting in the heat of the shower. You could just store them in another room or in a plastic bag. 

Overall, I would really recommend Coalface for normal to oily skinned people. I would also suggest asking a Lush employee to give you a sample before buying a full slice to make sure it works for you!

Face Wash Series; Clean and Clear Morning Energy Face Wash

Hey guys,

This is the first post in my face wash series, and today I will be reviewing the Clean and Clear Morning Energy face wash. I have been using this since before Christmas on and off, and I have really been liking it! I am on to my 3rd bottle.

The Clean & Clear Morning Energy smells so zesty! It really wakes me up in the morning and is a great pick-me-up because it is so fresh. It is quite strong when you take a sniff straight from the bottle, and it is a little strong while I wash my face, but once rinsed off there is no fragrance left behind.

The wash is a cloudy yellow runny gel-like cleanser that has a unique shimmering effect, which looks really pretty. The bursting beads are yellow and green, that dissolve when you foam up the product, releasing the 'awaking' ingredients of the formula. 

While washing my face, the gel feels smooth and it is easy to lather up into a bubbly foam. It rinses off easily, leaving no residue behind, or that tight feeling. Once you are done your face has this cool fresh feeling, refreshing really. 

I had no new blackheads or spots while using this cleanser, but I don’t feel it made my skin any ‘brighter’.

Overall, I really like the 'awaking' feeling and it didn't break me out so positive!

Face Wash Series

Hey guys!

Since my skin has been going crazy the past month, I've decided to do a mini collection post on all the face washes I've recently used and how they worked! 

Now I have been getting spots and blackheads since I was around 13, so for 5 years I have been trying to find products that actually work. I've never really been that bothered by blackheads more whiteheads as they in my opinion look worse - especially if they are the red and sore type! 

My skin type -freaking all over the place! I have dry cheeks and jaw line, oily t-zone, spot prone, blackhead prone, red patches and moderately sensitive. But this could all change tomorrow! Seriously one day my skin is dry as the Sahara desert, next oilier then the BP oil spill -____- Its a nightmare.

Review; MAC Prep and Prime Skin Base Visage

It's been a while since I started using MAC's Prep and Prime Skin Base Visage, 7 months in fact! I remember at first when I got it, I really liked it but it was quite expensive so I only used to use it for 'special occasions' but after a month of owning it I just decided to start using it everyday as makeup doesn't last forever! 

What MAC says; " An ultra-fluid lotion formulated with special-effect silicones. Calms and soothes the skin, blots away excess oil, and evens out skin redness. Improves the laydown and application of foundation or powder"

 The primer has a creamy consistency, not the clear silicone type most primers have. It is quite a nice change as it didn't feel greasy on my face like some others that I have tried, but still makes my make up go on so smoothly. When I first got it I was worried about my makeup sliding off but it stays on all day and it makes my face feel glowy. 

The primer is pearly white with tiny flecks of glitter. I use only about a pea size amount and thats enough for my entire face.

The only thing I find annoying is the packaging. It comes in a black opaque bottle and you can never tell how much you have unless you pop the bottom off -shown below- I have about 1/3 left. 

I just stick a bobby pin in the end, where the hole is, then *pop* the bottom comes off :)

Over all, I think MAC Prep and Prime Skin Base Visage is a good buy. It makes my skin feel smooth and soft, and it prevents foundation from caking. But I will say that not everyone will like this primer due to the light reflecting particles, even though they are very small and not visible they glowy effect may not be for you.

Review; Rimmel Stay Matte Dual Action Concealer

So I saw on Lola's blog that you could get a free Rimmel Stay Matte Dual Action Concealer if you just pay the P&P of £1.99 from HalfPricePerfumes. All you needed to do was enter the code freerimmel at check out. 

I naturally jumped at the chance to get some discounted makeup, and am really glad I did! 

The product comes in a pretty glossy creamy gold tube, with a  twist bottom to enable the concealer to slide up so you can use it. The concealer itself has a green core which is included to 'treat' your blemishes as you hide them. 

 The colour I choose was Soft Ivory which is a little too dark for me but when I blend it in it looks fine. I find it easy to build up and I have been able to cover larger spots and under eye circles using this product.

I have been using this concealer for a couple of days now and I have to be honest and say it does not appear to have reduced my existing spots in anyway however it may take longer to reduce them. I must also add that I have not got any new spots coming through in other places where I have used the concealer, like over red patches and round my nose.

At the end of the day, I did just buy this product for concealing my spots and not treating them, and overall I do really like this product!
