Review; Rimmel Stay Matte Dual Action Concealer

So I saw on Lola's blog that you could get a free Rimmel Stay Matte Dual Action Concealer if you just pay the P&P of £1.99 from HalfPricePerfumes. All you needed to do was enter the code freerimmel at check out.

I naturally jumped at the chance to get some discounted makeup, and am really glad I did!

The product comes in a pretty glossy creamy gold tube, with a  twist bottom to enable the concealer to slide up so you can use it. The concealer itself has a green core which is included to 'treat' your blemishes as you hide them.

The colour I choose was Soft Ivory which is a little too dark for me but when I blend it in it looks fine. I find it easy to build up and I have been able to cover larger spots and under eye circles using this product.

The green doesn't show up much in this photo, its much more of a minty green

I have been using this concealer for a couple of days now and I have to be honest and say it does not appear to have reduced my existing spots in anyway however it may take longer to reduce them. I must also add that I have not got any new spots coming through in other places where I have used the concealer, like over red patches and round my nose.

At the end of the day, I did just buy this product for concealing my spots and not treating them, and overall I do really like this product!

My Favourite Perfumes; Collection/Review

Everyone had their 'scent' the one perfume that they know smells amazing and lasts for a long time, personally I have a few which are different from one another, but perfect for so many occasions.

L-R
Sex In The City - Lust,
Elizabeth Arden- Green Tea,
Hugo Boss - Orange,
Charlie - Chic
Ed Hardy - Born Wild

Harajuku Lovers G

Heres a little description of them;

Sex In The City – Lust - £10 ish
I got this a for a gift for Christmas 2011 off my Auntie, and I was surprised I liked it! It is a sweet smelling perfume, it almost has an orangey-lemony smell but in a nice way. It almost reminds me of one of the Paris Hilton perfumes that I used to use when I was younger. The smell is not overpowering but does need to be topped up every few hours to keep the smell. This is a perfume that I would say is more of a daytime scent and is perfect to spray on just before going to school or work.

Elizabeth Arden - Green Tea - £15/20
I have been wearing this scent for about two years, it really is that good! At first I get a sweet, zesty scent, with the middle notes of sweet jasmine and the green tea coming through, as the scent settles down it becomes more musky but still sweet. Overall I think this it is light enough to wear during the spring and summer months and is definitely for day wear, I don’t need to apply it again when I use it.  In terms of age I would say that most ages could wear this as it fresh and not overly heavy.

Hugo Boss – Orange Sunset - £20 ish
The packaging on this is lovely, it starts with a deep orange at the bottom of the bottle gradually going to a light orange at the top I really like it! The fragrance is warm but more ‘manly’ than the rest of my perfumes. There is notes of Granadilla and Sandalwood that mix together to produce a truly beautiful smell. I love wearing this fragrance; it makes me feel like a million dollars. It’s a perfect ‘grown up’ perfume  that lasts a long time, with the smell not weaking over time.

Charlie – Chic - £6
I have already reviewed this here but I will just quickly go over it! The smell is slightly fruity, there are notes of sandalwood and amber which give it this deeper more sensual fragrance but still wearable for everyday use. The fragrance is fairly long lasting compared to other perfumes of the same price, when I spray it the morning I can still smell the scents way into the afternoon.

Ed Hardy - Born Wild - £20+
My mam and dad got me this for Christmas 2011 and I LOVE IT SO MUCH!! The prominent smells are strawberry and watermelon mixed with other fruit; it’s really sweet and yummy. I think this scent is more like ‘bubble-gum Barbie’ type of girl than a ‘wild’ girl as the name suggests. From the image of Ed Hardy and the name of the perfume I thought it would be edgier and not girlie, but as I said it’s nothing like that!

Harajuku Lovers - G - £15+
How cute are the dolls? I love these and have collected a few. Apple is the most prominent fragrance note and offers a juicy burst with a sharp sweetness, the peach and pineapple combine to add an exotic twist to the apple – this smell makes me so happy! It really does cheer me up, after 4-5 hours the sweetness of the top notes start to fade away but you are left with a pineapple and raspberry smell, very tropical. This again is a summer scent as it is lovely and light. It would suit most age groups in my opinion.

These are them main perfumes you find me wearing; What's your staple perfume? Leave me a comment!

NOTD & Sinful Colours Polish

I'm really happy today! I found my first Sinful Colours nail varnish in the colour All Mighty - 941, I know they are very common in America but I've never seen them in the UK. But when I was in Poundland I very surprising spotted this one, it was the only one in the shop -I asked- and they only had this colour, which by the way I love!! Anyway enough rambling here's a few photos :)

No Flash

Flash
I haven't tried it on my nails yet, but I will tomorrow and hopefully it will be as beautiful as it look in the bottle.

Currently I don't have my acrylics on my nails, so I just painted them Barry M's Blueberry and added Miss Sporty's glitter top coat.

Personally I think it looks very Christmasy and snow flake like!

Shit Product Review; Maybelline Super Stay 10h Tint Lip Gloss

There’s nothing much to make me complain but when I buy a product that claims to do a realistic amount and it doesn’t even do it, it makes me really mad. I bought the Maybelline Superstay tint gloss from ASDA for like a £5 on special and I'm so fucking disappointed!

Where do I begin on one of the worst product I have ever bought...

1) It does not last 10 hours, not even 2. I have tried it on many occasions since my mam and I bought it and it has not lasted anywhere near 10 hours. What a lie Maybelline.

2) The 'gloss' is awful, that doesn't even last an hour. Its sticky and fades into nothing. Pure crap.

3) The gloss/stain bleeds so much into the skin around your mouth, it looks awful.

4) The wand is an awful shape, it’s so bloody annoying! How can anyone apply a lip stain gloss with that piece of crap? It’s cheap, messy and rubbish - sort it out Maybelline.

What the hell is this crap?

I am so disappointed with it!! I've not only wasted my money, but so many other people must have bought it as the stand was almost empty! How can companies allow crap like this to go on sale?

Surely they care about if the products actually work?!!?

I have actually emailed Maybelline because I'm so angry, but I needed to vent it here too!

Ughh.

But anyway leave me a comment :)

NOTD; Red Glitter and Navy

I had been lusting over Barry M's red glitter for sometime now, and today I bit the bullet and bought it.
I really love glitters and the colour red so its perfect!

I teamed it with Barry M's navy as sometimes I think all glitter nails look a bit childish... So basically that's it!

Here's some photos;

That's all for today guys, I've been so busy with school and have a massive headache :( *BOO*

Foundation Collection and Comparison

We all want a perfect looking skin, so I thought I would do a quick comparison of all the foundations I have. I have tried other ones, but currently do not have them in my makeup collection as I had used them up and never re bought.

First off I have 8 foundations in my makeup collection, but for the life of me I couldn't find 2 to photograph, and my Max Factor one was downstairs and I could be bothered to get it :P Lazy or what?!!

1-5
6-8

Foundations;

  1. Revlon PhotoReady Makeup in 002 Vanilla
  2. 17 Skin Perfecting Shine Free Foundation in Ivory
  3. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum in Vanille Clair
  4. Mac Studio Fix Fluid in NC15
  5. L'OrĂ©al Paris True Match Foundation in Rosy Ivory
  6. Max Factor Lasting Performance in 100 Fair
  7. Revlon ColorStay Makeup for Combination/Oily Skin in Ivory
  8. Bourjois 10 Hour Sleep Effect Foundation in Abricote Clair

As you can see I made a table to show what I thought instead of rambling on about them, I thought it would be easier to read and remember! Obviously these are all my opinion...

Drying Effect = Foundation that clings to dry patches
Long Wearing = More than 8 hours
The rest are self explanatory

My overall favourites are MAC Studio Fix Fluid, Max Factor Lasting Performance, Revlon ColorStay and L'OrĂ©al Paris True Match.

My worst has to be 17 Skin Perfecting Shine Free, it broke me out and drys soooo bad! It doesn't even last long :( But tbh, I dont think Boots sells it anymore, so woohoo! No one else can waste their money on that rubbish!

If you want anymore information on any of the products mentioned, leave me a comment below :) Also if you do a post like this leave a link in the comments, I would love to read it!

Foundation Haul- Revlon PhotoReady and L'Oréal Paris True Match

Hello guys,
Today has been suck a poopy day! I have two lots of course work due in this Friday, which is done - just needs a few tweaks, but my teachers left the marked essays at home! Both of them! Two separate teachers! So now I'm left doing them tomorrow night and Thursday night, right on the deadline! Agh! I know it was just a accident but now I feel so pressured!

But anyway, I decided to buy some different foundations as I'm sick of my MAC Studio Fix Fluid NC15 being to dark! I do use Max Factor Lasting Performance in shade 100 which matches great, but its getting so boring now! Due for a change I reckon.

I picked up these two foundation, on 3 for 2 in Boots -Damn Boots, I have no money left!!- and my first impression is that I really like them.

I got Revlon PhotoReady Makeup in 002 Vanilla and L'Oréal Paris True Match Foundation in Rose Ivory.

I have wanted to try these for a long time, but always ended up putting them back.

So far the colours seem very different, the PhotoReady being more yellowy and the True Match -as the colour name suggests- more pink. But personally I think they both look fine on my face...

Top - PhotoReady
Bottom- True Match

The textures are also very different. The True Match is very runny and light, whereas the PhotoReady is thicker and stickier -but still easy to blend and work with, so its not a bad thing!

This is just my first impressions, so after a week I will do a full review as sometimes with 'drugstore' foundations I break out -which I do not need anymore off!

I also cut myself a full fringe today! Its not really new to me, as for most of childhood life I had a full fringe but for the past few years I had a side fringe, today I was bored so it got the chop! Photos coming soon :P

I am also planning on doing a foundation collection/major comparison, would you like to see that?

Lastly have you used these foundations, did you like them? Tell me in the comments!!

Haul and Review; Miss Sporty's Dr Balm

I was out shopping after six form today, looking for a pick me up when seen this in Boots. Its Miss Sporty's Dr Balm in Glam Kiss SOS.

'Dr. Balm' first caught my eye due to the slightly old school packaging, but what really sold me was the smell - watermelon sweets! So far, I'm impressed! 'Dr. Balm' feels pretty soft and moisturising, smells delicious, provides the perfect amount of sheer colour.

Plus it isn't a sticky balm and that's a big bonus because I hate balms/glosses that stick on you lip -ewww!

Now I think it only cost me £1.99 in store, however on the Boots website it says £3.49 which I would not pay for something like this, because I'm cheap sometimes, making me believe I am right....

Anyway overall I would really recommend these to try; they work really well, they smell amazing and they give a right amount of colour pay off for what I want.

Update :)

Sorry for the lack of posts guys, normally I post every day or two days but since last Thursday I’ve been so uninspired! So leave me a comment telling me what you want to see :)

If you had read my Excited For My Birthday post here, you would know I was getting an iPhone 4S for my birthday instead of the 3GS I have now, but on Friday my dad and mam surprised me and let me get it early! I was so excited! But now I have to find a cute case! :P

Also I have a question for you guys; Do you play Sims 3?
My boyfriend got me it, and I have been trying to play it but every time I go to play like move the characters and that it freezes o.O I’m like wtf? My computer has all the specs to run the Sims 3 but it just won’t play! I’m so confused, and have found no answers to help... So if this has ever happened to you let me know!

And lastly, I go back to six form tomorrow *boo* I really don’t want to go back, I’m so lazy! So if I don’t post as regularly that’s why...  I'm so not looking forward to that!

Review - Lush Mask Of Magnaminty

I have so much love for Lush Mask Of Magnaminty!

To start off with, this product is super bright green, herbal, and cooling to the skin. It applies thinner than Lush’s fresh facemasks with small chunks of Aduki bean in, making it easy to spread.

I have also been going through really bad skin this week, relatively big sore red and frankly disgusting spots have appeared on my chin and around my mouth, so I applied it to the problem areas a little thicker than the rest of my face. It helped cool and sooth my skin and honestly made them look smaller.

While it’s on, it immediately goes super-cold and minty making your face tingle, it truly feels like it’s sucking my pores clean and reducing the spots while it’s on. It dries up pretty quickly with the setting texture of thin clay, clearly as it has clay in! It’s hard to move your face once it’s dried but it’s a nice…”drawn out” feeling like I'm doing my skin some good.

When it comes to taking it off, just make sure you wet it really well then rub in circle motions. It is definitely good for oily acne prone skin but also dry skin as the Aduki beans exfoliate really well, leaving my skin soft and clean.

Looking lovely with a green face! Ahaha :P

The texture of Mask of Magnaminty is soft and paste-like. You can see the chunks of Aduki beans in the photo.

I love the refreshing feeling and soothing ingredients, as well as what it does for my skin. It's something I will be definitely purchasing again. Do you have any favorite masks?

Fashionista Custom Palette

For a few weeks now I have been on a blush craze and this is my latest purchase.

Today I bought a FashionistA pallet from Superdrug. FashionistA has 49 different shades of eyeshadow and 12 blusher colours allowing you to design own palette, perfect for me since I wanted to expand my collection.

Before I went to choose my colours from FashionistA, I went into MAC and swatched the shades I liked hoping to find dupes as I don’t have or want to spend £17.50 on only one blush, to me that is ridiculous.  I think I found a few pretty close matches, two FashionistA colours are eyeshadows as they matched the best.

 1) Lilac Dream Shade 31 (eyeshadow) is similar to MAC's  Full of Joy
2) Glamour Girl Shade 26 (eyeshadow) is a slightly lighter shade of MAC's Lovecloud
3) Blushing Coral Shade 5 (blush) is in the same colour family as MAC's Frankly Scarlet, it isn't a exact match as Frankly Scarlet is more red and less pinky

4) Butterscotch Shade 10 (blush) is almost exactly MAC's Melba

I have to say I was surprised at the pigmentation in these blushes as they are only £4 each but £12 for the whole palette (saving £9)

I got the bright red pallet to stand out from my other ones :)

The palette itself feels sturdy and makes a 'click' when closed. It also has a large mirror on the inside. It's really easy to pop the different pans in and out, meaning you can swap out and put in colours if you are travelling or whatever.

I actually think it looks a lot more expensive than it is, you can get it in either red or black.

Here's the link for the pallet and blushes

Do you guys know any MAC dupes?
